How To Bypass/Unlock Android Lock Screen Pin Pattern By Different Methods

We are all human beings, we make mistakes and forget things like feeding the dog, watering the plants or our pattern to unlock your lock screen. Forgetting ones pattern is a disaster. However, there are some methods to unlock your phone, let’s have a look at some of them.

This is for information purpose only. Do Not try on other devices except your own. Try at your Own Risk.

Methods to Unlock Pattern On Android Devices

Factory Reset

The first method is Factory reset. It is one of the easiest and most popular ways of unlocking your android phone when it is locked but it comes at a huge price. This method deletes all your data that is stored in your phone. You should use this method only in case you don’t need the data in your phone and need only your phone.

Requirements:

  • You need to know your google account password if your phone was released in 2016 or later

First, turn off your device. Then hold power button and volume down button simultaneously until the Android’s bootloader menu pops up. From now, you will use volume down and up buttons to control the cursor and power button to select. Press volume down twice and press the power button. Hold the power button and press the volume up once. Select the “Wipe data/factory reset” option by using volume up and down buttons to move and power button to select as mentioned earlier. Then, select “Reboot system now”. This is how the Factory reset method unlocks your phone.

Delete Password File From Android

If you have forgotten your password, what else is a better option than deleting the whole password file itself? Nearly every phone can be unlocked by this method. You will have to use ADB to perform this operation.

Requirements:

  • You need to have previously enabled USB debugging on your phone
  • You need a computer and it should be connected via ADB.
  • You can’t use this method on a device with encryption enabled by default.

Use a USB data cable to connect your phone and your computer. Open a command prompt window in your ADB installation directory and type the command “adb shell rm /data/system/gesture.key.” Now reboot your phone and the lock will be gone. Quickly set a new password, pattern or key before you reboot it again.

Forgot Password Feature To Unlock Android Pattern Lock

This is most probably the simplest method to unlock your locked phone but has a lot of requirements. You won’t need any ADB installation or lose any data for this method.

Requirements:

  • You need to have your google account information.
  • Your phone should be working on Android 4.4 or lower.

Try random patterns or passwords 5 times and after which a message saying “Try again in 30 seconds” will pop up. Then click on the ” Forgot pattern” at the bottom of the screen. Depending on your phone, select the option saying “Enter google account details” or your phone will directly take you there. Enter your email and password after which either Google will send you an email of the correct unlock pattern or you will be able to unlock it there itself.

Boot into Safe Mode To Unlock Android Pattern Lock

If you have downloaded a lock app and forgot it’s password or pattern, booting into safe mode is the most convenient method. This method can be used in any android phone regardless of it’s model or android version.

Requirements:

  • The lock shouldn’t be default rather from a downloaded app.

Hold the power button until the option of  “Power off” appears and then long press it. After some time, the power menu will show up and press “Ok”. When the process is completed, the third-party lock screen app will be temporarily disabled. Now you can remove your lock or you can uninstall the app itself. Reboot your phone to get out of the safe mode.

Android Device Manager / Find My Device To Unlock Android Pattern Lock

For this method, you need to take assistance of an in-built service(mostly) in android known as “Android device manager” or “Find my device“.

Requirements:

  • You need to know your Google account information.
  • Your phone should be running on Android 7.1.1 Nougat or lower.

Visit the website https://google.com/android/find and log-in. After selecting your device, click the “Lock” option and you will be prompted to add a new password. Type it twice to confirm and press “Lock”.This new password you just entered is your new password. Just keep patience as it may take some time.

Using Find My Mobile To Unlock Android Pattern Lock

This method is similar to the previous one as you can see from the title of the method. Samsung has developed this feature to track a device remotely but we are going to teach you how to use it to unlock a phone.

Requirements:

  • Your device should be a product of Samsung company.
  • You will need your Samsung account details.
  • You will need another device.

In the other device, log into your Samsung account in the website https://findmymobile.samsung.com/ . Press the “Lock my screen” option in the left-hand pane. Just like the previous method, enter a new PIN in the first field which will eventually replace your password or pattern ( So don’t forget it as well). Click the “Lock” button at the bottom of the page. After some time, your password will have been replaced by the PIN you just entered.

Crash the Lock Screen To Unlock Android Pattern Lock

This is by far the most easiest method in my opinion as it doesn’t need any other apps or devices for the operation to work. It’s easy and won’t take much time either.

Requirements:

  • Your phone should be running Android 5.0-5.1.1.

Firstly, tap the “Emergency Call” option located at the bottom of your phone (depending on your phone). Enter 10 asterisks “*” in the dialer and copy and paste the whole thing in the same field and now there will be 20 asterisks. Repeat this process again and again until you can no longer copy and paste. Then, go back to the lock screen and open the camera. pull down the notification shade and press on the settings icon where you will be asked to provide a password. Hold the field and choose “paste”. Keep on repeating this process until your lock screen itself has crashed. Now you are free to use your phone.

These were some the methods to unlock your phone when you have locked and forgot your password. Using these method you can access your locked phone without going to a mobile store and paying for nothing. Use this information only when your phone is locked and don’t use it for stealing others phone or any other wrong deeds.
